How did we help Razor?
Razor is a name most Australians would recognise, with their iconic Kick Scooters being a staple in many childhoods. However, Razor brings much more than just scooters to the lives of kids across the country.
In the lead-up to Christmas, Razor was launching the Hovertrax 2.0 – a self-balancing hoverboard. Hoverboards were all the rage – sitting at the top of most Christmas lists. However, the industry was plagued by cheap imports which had made worldwide headlines thanks to poor-quality, unsafe batteries catching fire amongst other dramas.
The Hovertrax 2.0 was a quality – albeit more expensive – product, of which were not being sold in the traditional retail outlets of Kmart, BigW, etc. Instead, the team at Razor and Toys ‘R Us engaged nimbl to help execute a direct response campaign to sell these online.
Driving profitable Christmas sales
nimbl executed a highly-effective campaign utilising both Google Search Advertisements, including Google Shopping Ads, along with a targeted Remarketing campaign to drive sales.
Despite lots of competition from traditional and niche online retailers, we were able to drive high volumes of traffic which converted into sales at a profitable marketing cost over the course of the vital Christmas retail period.
Off the back of the success of this direct response campaign, nimbl later executed a wider search campaign across their product range – which included the iconic Kick Scooter. A Search Engine Optimisation strategy was also executed, helping drive success to the Official Australian Razor website.
Hovering to Christmas success
With the viral sensation that was the “hoverboard”, came challenges from the countless inferior, cheaper products that flooded the market.
Despite this, nimbl we able to successfully deliver a targeted advertising campaign over the peak Christmas retail period – driving a substantial increase in sales which represented half of their total online revenue.
These campaigns were delivered at a massive ROAS – with $10 returned to every $1 invested.
